Getting There

• Bus

  To reach San Gimignano from Florence, head to the Santa Maria Novella bus station. You can get there by walking or taking a tram to the station. Once at the bus station, purchase a ticket for the bus to San Gimignano. The bus journey takes about 1 hour and offers beautiful views of the Tuscan countryside. The bus will drop you off at the main bus station in San Gimignano, from where you can easily walk to the town center.

• Train and Bus

  From Florence, take a train from Santa Maria Novella train station to Poggibonsi. The train journey lasts around 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Poggibonsi, exit the train station and look for the bus stop nearby. Take the local bus to San Gimignano, which will take about 30 minutes. The bus will drop you off in the town, and you can walk to the main attractions.

  Consider joining a guided tour that includes transportation to San Gimignano. Many tours depart from central Florence and provide a hassle-free experience.
