There are direct trains to Santa Margherita Ligure, which is the closest station to Portofino. The train ride takes approximately 40 minutes.

From the Genoa city center, you can take a bus from the main bus terminal (Piazza della Vittoria). Look for the bus number 82 that goes to Santa Margherita Ligure. The bus takes about an hour and offers beautiful views along the coast.

After reaching Santa Margherita Ligure by train or bus, head to the ferry terminal located near the waterfront. Purchase a ticket for a ferry to Portofino. The ferry ride takes about 15-20 minutes and provides stunning views of the coastline.
