A Beautiful Day on the Italian Riviera

We had a wonderful day exploring Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino with our family. Since we were visiting from a cruise ship, we wanted to see as much as possible without feeling rushed, and the day was planned at a comfortable pace. Santa Margherita was such a pleasant surprise, especially the waterfront, Piazza Caprera, and the area around Villa Durazzo. We enjoyed having some free time to walk around and take in the atmosphere instead of spending the entire day following a strict schedule. Portofino was the highlight for us. The colorful buildings around the harbor looked even more beautiful in person, and walking along the waterfront with the boats and yachts in the background was something our whole family enjoyed. We also had the chance to admire Castello Brown and the views over the bay. Everything felt easy and well organized from the cruise port, which made a big difference when traveling with children. We returned with plenty of time before the ship's departure, so we could relax and enjoy the rest of our evening onboard.

Great Scenery, Good Pace, No Stress

We booked this as a group of friends and mainly wanted to see the famous parts of the Riviera without spending our cruise day worrying about logistics. It worked out really well for us. Santa Margherita Ligure was a great place to start. The waterfront was beautiful, and we enjoyed seeing the historic sights and Villa Durazzo before having some free time. The town had a nice relaxed atmosphere and gave us plenty of opportunities for photos and a coffee break. Then came Portofino, which was probably everyone's favorite. The harbor is incredibly scenic, and seeing the colorful waterfront buildings next to all the boats was exactly what we had imagined. We walked around, took photos, and enjoyed some time just sitting near the water. The guide was knowledgeable but easygoing, and the transportation between the different areas made the day simple. Nothing felt unnecessarily complicated. We returned to the ship with plenty of time, which was especially important to us. A really enjoyable day with friends.

A Perfect Day in Portofino with Polina

Our tour of Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure with Polina was so much fun. We had a wonderful stop where we tried several different types of homemade focaccia, along with great coffee and gelato. Polina knew the best routes to walk, which helped us avoid some of the steeper climbs. She also gave us some excellent restaurant suggestions and helpful ideas for things to do when we were in Genoa. Polina had great energy and shared the history and stories of the area in such a relaxed, interesting way. It was such a fun day with someone who clearly knows the area so well and really enjoys sharing it with others. We had a great time and would absolutely recommend the tour.
