Walking
If you are starting from the Genoa Piazza Principe train station, exit the station and head towards Via Balbi. Turn left onto Via Balbi and continue straight for about 10 minutes. You will pass through the beautiful historic center of Genoa. As you walk, keep an eye out for the stunning architecture and small shops along the way. Once you reach Piazza della Nunziata, take a right onto Via dei Macchiaioli. Follow this street until you reach Piazza di S. Matteo, which will be on your left.

Public Transport - Bus
From the Genoa Brignole train station, walk to the bus stop located just outside the station. Look for bus number 18 or 20, which both head towards the city center. Get on the bus and ride for about 10 minutes. You will need to get off at the 'Piazza De Ferrari' stop. From there, walk down Via XX Settembre until you reach the intersection with Via San Lorenzo. Turn left onto Via San Lorenzo, and continue until you reach Piazza di S. Matteo on your right.

If you are near the San Giorgio metro station, take the metro in the direction of Brin and get off at the next stop, De Ferrari. Upon exiting the station, follow the signs to Piazza De Ferrari. From Piazza De Ferrari, walk down Via XX Settembre and turn left onto Via San Lorenzo. Continue walking straight until you reach Piazza di S. Matteo on your right side.
