Il Duoglio Spiaggia: Amalfi's Azure Escape

The beach is composed of small pebbles, so water shoes are recommended for comfort.Access to Il Duoglio Spiaggia is part of its charm. The most common route involves descending approximately 400 steps from the main road. This descent, while potentially challenging, adds to the beach's secluded and tranquil atmosphere. Alternatively, particularly during the summer months, a convenient boat service runs from the port of Amalfi directly to the beach.Once on the beach, visitors can enjoy a range of activities. The crystal-clear waters are perfect for swimming and snorkeling, with the underwater environment offering glimpses of local marine life. For those seeking relaxation, there are lidos (beach clubs) offering sunbeds, umbrellas, and other amenities. Water sports enthusiasts can rent kayaks and paddleboards. Two beach clubs, Lido degli Artisti and I Due Scugnizzi, provide restaurants and bars. Note that the sun disappears behind the cliffs in the early afternoon, so it's best to arrive in the morning.Historically, the area around Duoglio Beach has points of interest. To the east, on a high point, a fortified area existed in medieval times. Records indicate an ancient watchtower and the Chapel of Santa Caterina, which remained standing as late as 1871.
