Getting There

Walking
From the center of Herculaneum, start at the Herculaneum Archaeological Park entrance. Head northwest on Via Roma toward Via V. Veneto. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Via Giuseppe Mazzini. Turn left onto Via Giuseppe Mazzini and follow it for about 1 kilometer, where it will lead you to the port area. Once at the port, you can take a ferry to Casamicciola Terme. The ferry ride will take about 30 minutes. After arriving at Casamicciola Terme, follow the signs to the bus station, where you can catch a local bus heading towards Mount Epomeo.

Bus
From the Herculaneum Archaeological Park, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Via Roma. Take the bus line EAV which travels toward Naples. After about 15 minutes, get off at the 'Piazza delle Repubblica' stop in Ercolano. Transfer to bus line EAV that goes to Casamicciola Terme. The journey will take approximately 40 minutes. Once you arrive in Casamicciola Terme, ask for directions to the bus station, from where you can catch a local bus that will take you to the base of Mount Epomeo.

Train and Walking
From Herculaneum, walk to the Ercolano Scavi train station, which is about a 15-minute walk. Take the Circumvesuviana train towards Sorrento. After about 30 minutes, get off at the 'Portici-Ercolano' station. From there, transfer to the Cumana Line train heading towards Torre Annunziata. Get off at the 'Casamicciola' station. Once you arrive, follow the signs to catch a local bus or taxi to the base of Mount Epomeo.
