Walking
If you are starting from the Herculaneum archaeological site, head out of the site entrance and walk towards the main road, Corso Resina. Turn left and continue walking straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the Ercolano train station. From there, take the Circumvesuviana train towards Sorrento. Get off at the Salerno train station, which should take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Salerno, exit the station and head towards the waterfront. Follow the signs towards Piazza della Libertà, which is about a 15-minute walk along the promenade.
Bus
From the Herculaneum archaeological site, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Corso Resina. Look for the EAV bus number 1 which heads towards Salerno. The bus ride will take about 20 minutes to reach Salerno. Once you arrive, get off at the main bus terminal and walk towards the waterfront. Follow the signs for Piazza della Libertà, which is about a 10-minute walk.
Train
From the Herculaneum archaeological site, walk to the Ercolano train station (approximately 10 minutes). Take the Circumvesuviana train towards Sorrento. After about 30 minutes, you will arrive at Salerno train station. Once you exit the train, walk straight towards the waterfront promenade. Continue walking for about 15 minutes until you reach Piazza della Libertà.
