    Getting There

    Walking

    From the Herculaneum archaeological site, exit the site and head south towards Via IV Novembre. Turn left on Via IV Novembre and walk until you reach Piazza della Repubblica. Continue straight onto Via Napoli. Follow this road for approximately 2 kilometers until you reach the waterfront area. At the waterfront, keep walking along the promenade until you see a sign directing you to the Solfatara in Pozzuoli. The walk will take around 30-40 minutes.

    Public Transport - Bus

    From Herculaneum, walk to the nearest bus stop located at Via Roma. Take bus number 152 heading towards the Pozzuoli area. The bus ride will take about 20 minutes. Get off at the 'Solfatara' bus stop. From there, follow the signs towards the Solfatara entrance, which will be a short walk away.

    Train

    From Herculaneum, walk to the Ercolano Scavi train station, which is a short distance from the archaeological site. Take the Circumvesuviana train towards Napoli. At the Napoli Porta Nolana station, transfer to the Metro Line 2 (the blue line) towards Pozzuoli. Get off at the Pozzuoli station. From there, you can either walk approximately 15 minutes to Solfatara or take a local bus that will drop you closer to the entrance.
