From central Irpinia, head south on SS7. Continue for about 30 km until you reach the exit for Pompei. Merge onto A3 and follow signs for Pompei. Take the Pompei exit and follow local signs directing you to the Basilica, which is located at Vicolo delle Terme, 2. Parking may be available at nearby lots, but expect to pay around €5-€10 for parking.
Train
If you prefer public transportation, take a train from the nearest station in Irpinia to Pompei. You can catch a train from Avellino to Pompei Scavi - Villa dei Misteri station. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and costs around €5-€8. Once you arrive at Pompei Scavi, exit the station and walk towards the main entrance of the archaeological site. The Basilica is a short walk from there, located at Vicolo delle Terme, 2.
Bus
Alternatively, you can take a bus from Avellino to Pompei. Check the local schedule for the bus service (typically Linea 6). The bus will drop you off near the center of Pompei. From there, you can walk to the Basilica, which is about a 15-minute walk. Follow the signs or use a map app to navigate to Vicolo delle Terme, 2. The bus fare is approximately €3-€5.
