Car
If you are traveling by car, start by navigating to Monterosso al Mare, located in the Province of La Spezia. From the A12 Motorway, take the exit for 'Monterosso al Mare' and follow the signs towards the town center. Once in Monterosso, find a parking spot as street parking is limited. You can park at 'Parcheggio Monterosso' (around €2-3 per hour). From the parking area, head towards the beach and follow the coastal path that leads to Punta Mesco, a scenic hike that offers stunning views of the coastline.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, take a train to Monterosso al Mare from major Italian cities like Florence or Genoa. The train station is centrally located in Monterosso. Once you arrive at the station, exit and walk towards the beach. From there, follow the signs to the 'Sentiero Azzurro' (Blue Trail). This trail leads directly to Punta Mesco and takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour to hike. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
