Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start by heading towards Laglio, which is located along the western shore of Lake Como. From Como, take the SP583 road north. After approximately 15 minutes, you will reach Laglio. Look for signs indicating Monte Colmegnone as you enter the town. Once in Laglio, continue on Via Statale until you see the signs for the trailhead towards Monte Colmegnone. Parking might be limited, so plan to arrive early to secure a spot.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Monte Colmegnone via public transportation, take a train from Milan to Como San Giovanni station. Once in Como, transfer to a bus that heads towards Laglio; Line C10 is a good option. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Laglio, you can either walk to the trailhead for Monte Colmegnone or take a taxi if you prefer not to walk. Be sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time for return trips, as they may not run frequently.

• Hiking

  Once you reach the trailhead for Monte Colmegnone, begin your hike. The trail is well-marked and offers stunning views of Lake Como as you ascend. The hike typically takes around 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the summit. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and bring water, as the path can be steep and uneven in places. At the summit, enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
