    Discover more about Arboreto Prandi

Nestled in the picturesque countryside of Sale San Giovanni, in the Province of Cuneo, Arboreto Prandi is a testament to one man's passion for botany. Carlo Domenico Prandi, a railroad worker, began creating this arboretum in the early 1900s, introducing innovative agricultural practices and cultivating a remarkable collection of plant species from around the world. Covering approximately 30 acres (12 hectares), the arboretum invites visitors to explore a diverse landscape featuring both indigenous and exotic trees. Among the notable species are Scots pine, araucarias, Spanish firs and Old World sycamores. Beyond the trees, the arboretum also boasts a variety of shrubs and herbaceous plants, adding to its botanical richness. After Prandi's death, the arboretum fell into disrepair until the Valli Mongia, Cevetta and Langa Cebana Mountain Community stepped in to restore it. In 2010, it was opened to the public, and in 2013, the Prandi Arboretum Association was founded to manage and enhance the area, promoting its botanical heritage and sustainable practices. A visit to Arboreto Prandi offers a serene and educational experience, connecting visitors with nature and the legacy of its founder.
