Getting there

Train

From Rome, take the FL1 train towards Fara in Sabina or Orte from the Roma Tiburtina station. Get off at the station called 'Calcata'. Upon exiting the station, you will need to walk to the bus stop nearby. Catch the local bus line COTRAL towards Calcata Vecchia. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes, and it will drop you off near the entrance of Calcata Vecchia. Once you get off the bus, walk up the hill to reach the village.

Bus

If you’re near the Termini station, you can take a direct COTRAL bus from the bus terminal. Look for the bus heading towards Calcata Vecchia. The journey will take about 1 hour, and the bus will drop you off at the main entrance of the village. After getting off, simply follow the signs to the historical center of Calcata.

Taxi

If you prefer a more direct option, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Rome. Simply tell the driver 'Calcata Vecchia' as your destination. The drive will take about 1 hour, depending on traffic. Taxis can be hailed on the street or booked via an app, but be sure to agree on the fare before starting your journey.
