Monte della Neve, translated as "Snow Mountain," is a prominent peak near Livigno, in the Province of Sondrio, Italy. While the summit itself is occupied by ski lifts and repeater stations, the mountain offers rewarding hiking experiences with breathtaking panoramic views.The trails to Monte della Neve wind through scenic alpine landscapes, offering vistas of the Livigno valley and the surrounding mountains, including the Bernina range. The ascent can be started from various points in Livigno, with trails of varying difficulty. One popular route begins near the Mottolino cable car, following paths 132, 105, and 121 before ascending via trails 125 and 126. Alternatively, hikers can drive up Via del Foscagno to Eira, reducing the elevation gain.In the summer, the mountain's slopes are adorned with colorful alpine flowers, adding to the visual appeal of the hike.
