Getting There

• Train

  To reach Largo Porta Nuova in Bergamo from Milan, start by heading to Milano Centrale (Milan Central Station). You can take the Metro Line 3 (Yellow Line) to Centrale FS. Once at the station, purchase a ticket to Bergamo from the ticket machines or ticket counters. Trains to Bergamo depart frequently, approximately every 30 minutes. The journey takes around 50 minutes. Upon arrival at Bergamo train station, exit the station and head straight along Viale Papa Giovanni XXIII. Continue walking until you reach Largo Porta Nuova, which is approximately a 15-minute walk.

• Bus

  From Milano Centrale, you can also take a bus to Bergamo. Look for the bus companies like Autostradale or FlixBus. The bus stop is located outside the station. Purchase a ticket from the ticket booth or online. Buses run frequently and the journey takes about 60 minutes. Once you arrive at Bergamo’s bus station, exit and walk towards Viale Papa Giovanni XXIII. Continue straight for about 15 minutes until you reach Largo Porta Nuova.

• Metro and Bus

  Another option from Milan is to take the Metro. Start by taking Metro Line 1 (Red Line) to Sesto 1 Maggio FS. From there, transfer to the suburban train (S5 or S6) towards Treviglio and get off at Bergamo station. After arriving at Bergamo station, head to the bus terminal located adjacent to the train station. You can take a local bus (Bus Line 1) to Largo Porta Nuova. The total travel time is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

• Walking (from Bergamo city center)

  If you are already in Bergamo city center, you can easily walk to Largo Porta Nuova. Start from Piazza Vecchia and head towards the funicular railway (Funicolare Bergamo Alta), then walk down Via Gombito. Continue straight until you reach Viale Vittorio Emanuele II. From there, turn right and continue straight until you arrive at Largo Porta Nuova. This walk will take about 25-30 minutes.
