Getting there

Car

If you're coming from the town of Fivizzano, head south on Via della Repubblica towards SP1. Continue on SP1 for about 22 km until you reach La Spezia. As you approach La Spezia, take the exit for SP331 towards Porto Venere. Follow this road, which will lead you to the beautiful coastline. Once in Porto Venere, look for signs directing you to Via dei Mulini. Doria Castle is located at the end of this street, and there is parking available nearby.

Public Transportation

To reach Doria Castle from the town of Aulla, start by taking a train from Aulla to La Spezia Centrale. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once in La Spezia, transfer to the local bus service (Line 11) that goes to Porto Venere. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes, and you will be dropped off near the town center. From the bus stop, walk towards Via dei Mulini, following the signs to Doria Castle, which is a short walk uphill.

Car

From the coastal town of Lerici, drive north on SP331 towards La Spezia. After about 15 km, look for the signs for Porto Venere and take the exit. Follow the road into Porto Venere, and once there, navigate to Via dei Mulini. Look for parking areas along the street, as Doria Castle is just a short walk from there.

Public Transportation

If you're starting from Carrara, take the train to La Spezia Centrale. This will take about 30 minutes. After arriving, switch to the local bus service (Line 11) heading to Porto Venere. Once you reach Porto Venere, disembark at the town center, then follow the signs to Via dei Mulini. Doria Castle is located at the end of this street, just a short stroll away.
