Discover more about Laghi Serodoli e Gelato

Laghi Serodoli e Gelato, located in the Adamello Brenta Nature Park in Trentino, offer a captivating alpine experience. These glacial lakes, Serodoli and Gelato, are situated at an altitude of 2,370 meters (7,776 feet). The lakes are known for their crystal-clear waters and the stunning reflections of the surrounding peaks. Lago Serodoli, the larger of the two, is surrounded by tonalite rocks and alpine vegetation. Its name possibly derives from the dialectal term “serodoi,” referring to rocky terrain. In 1954, a mishap during lake maintenance caused a dramatic draining of the lake, though thankfully without casualties. Lago Gelato, whose name translates to "frozen lake," often retains ice well into the summer. The area is a haven for hikers, with trails catering to various skill levels. The popular “Giro dei 5 Laghi” (Five Lakes Tour) passes by both lakes, offering panoramic views and access to other nearby lakes like Lago Ritorto and Lago Lambin. The lakes are also accessible from Madonna di Campiglio via the Pradalago cable car, followed by a scenic hike. In winter, the area transforms into a popular ski touring destination, with routes leading to the summit of Cima Serodoli.
