Walking
From Piazza Maggiore, walk west along Via Ugo Bassi for approximately 500 meters. Piazza Malpighi and the Basilica di San Francesco will be on your left. The walk is mostly flat and takes about 10 minutes.

Several bus lines stop near Piazza Malpighi. From Bologna Centrale Station, take bus line 21 and get off at the Piazza Malpighi stop. The journey takes approximately 10 minutes and costs €1.50 - €2. Alternatively, numerous other bus lines connect the Bologna Centrale train station to Piazza Malpighi, including the 11, 13, 15, 19, and 20.
