Walking
From the central area of Montepulciano, head towards the main square, Piazza Grande. Once you reach the square, take the stairs down to Via di Gracciano nel Corso. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Via delle Cantine. Turn right onto Via delle Cantine and walk until you reach the bus station (Stazione degli Autobus). Here, you can catch a bus heading towards Cortona. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Cortona, disembark at the main bus stop. From there, walk straight along Via Nazionale and take a left onto Via della Repubblica. Continue straight, and you will reach Piazza della Repubblica in about 10 minutes.
Public Transport
From Montepulciano, head to the bus station (Stazione degli Autobus) located near the center of town. Purchase a ticket for Cortona. Buses to Cortona are available several times daily. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Cortona, get off the bus at the main stop, which is located near the town center. Now, walk straight along Via Nazionale and then turn left onto Via della Repubblica. Continue walking straight, and you will arrive at Piazza della Repubblica in around 10 minutes.
