Bus
To reach Convento di San Francesco in Cortona from Perugia, head to the main bus station, which is located at Piazza Partigiani. From there, take the bus to Cortona. The bus number to look for is 'SITA' or any bus heading towards Cortona. The journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Cortona bus station, exit the station and walk straight along Via Roma. Continue on this road for about 10 minutes until you reach Piazza della Repubblica. From the square, take Via Berrettini, which is on the left side of the piazza, and walk for about 5 minutes until you reach the Convento di San Francesco at Via Berrettini, 4.
Train and Bus
Begin your journey by making your way to the Perugia train station, located at Piazza Vittorio Veneto. From there, take a train to Camucia-Cortona station. The train ride will take around 30 minutes. After arriving at Camucia-Cortona, exit the train station and catch a local bus towards Cortona. Alight at the stop closest to the town center. Once you get off the bus, head towards the main square, Piazza della Repubblica. Walk along Via Berrettini for about 5 minutes, and you will find the Convento di San Francesco at Via Berrettini, 4.
Walking
If you prefer to walk and enjoy the scenic views, you can take a pleasant hike from Perugia to Cortona. The distance is approximately 30 kilometers and will take about 6-7 hours. Start at the city center of Perugia and head south towards the countryside. Follow the signs towards Cortona, enjoying the beautiful landscape along the way. Once you reach Cortona, navigate to the town center and follow Via Berrettini for about 5 minutes until you arrive at the Convento di San Francesco at Via Berrettini, 4.
