Bus
From the center of Perugia, head to the main bus station 'Piazza Partigiani'. Take Bus number 6 towards Cortona. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Cortona's bus station, exit the bus and walk straight for about 5 minutes until you reach the main square. The Cortona Cathedral is located at 'Piazza del Duomo, 1' right in the square.
Train and Walking
From Perugia, make your way to the 'Perugia Fontivegge' train station. Board a train heading towards Terontola-Cortona. The ride takes about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Terontola, you can either take a local bus or a taxi to Cortona, which is about a 15-minute drive. Once in Cortona, walk to 'Piazza del Duomo' where the cathedral is located.
Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and enjoy hiking, you can walk from Perugia to Cortona. Start your journey at 'Piazza IV Novembre' in Perugia. Follow the signs for the Etruscan trail that leads towards Cortona. The distance is around 25 km and will take approximately 5-6 hours of walking. The path is scenic but ensure you have plenty of water and wear comfortable shoes. Once you arrive in Cortona, head towards 'Piazza del Duomo' where the cathedral is located.
