Car
If you're driving from central Piedmont, head towards Turin by taking the A55 or A6 highways depending on your starting point. Follow the signs for 'Torino' and then take the exit for 'Centro'. Once in the city, use Via Roma, which will lead directly to Piazza Castello. Be mindful of the parking regulations; there are several paid parking areas nearby, such as the parking garage at Piazza Carlo Felice.
Train
For travelers using the train, take any regional train to Torino Porta Nuova station. Upon arrival, exit the station and head towards Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. From there, you can either walk (approximately 15 minutes) by following Corso Vittorio Emanuele II to Piazza Castello, or take a local tram (Line 4 or 10) from the station. The tram ride costs about €1.50 and takes around 5 minutes.
Bus
If you prefer taking the bus, look for the local buses heading to the city center. Buses 18, 56, and 75 frequently run from various points in Piedmont to the city center. Ensure you purchase a ticket beforehand at a ticket vending machine or a local shop (around €1.50). Get off at the stop 'Piazza Castello' which is right next to the square.
Metro
You can also use the metro system. Take Line 1 to the station 'Porta Nuova' or 'XVIII Dicembre'. From either station, it’s a short walk to Piazza Castello. Alternatively, you can take Line 1 to 'Re Umberto' and walk along Via Roma to reach the square. A single metro ticket costs around €1.50.
Walking
If you are already in central Turin, Piazza Castello is easily accessible on foot. From Piazza San Carlo, walk along Via Roma, which will lead you directly to the square. The walk is approximately 10 minutes and is a pleasant way to experience the city.
