Getting There

Bus
From Pisa, head to the main bus station, 'Pisa Stazione', located in front of the train station. Take the bus line 2 towards 'Camaiore'. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Camaiore' stop. From there, walk to Via Candalla Alta which is approximately a 20-minute walk. Head north on Via Vittorio Emanuele II, turn left onto Via Roma, continue straight onto Via Candalla Alta, and follow the signs to the hiking path.

Train and Bus
Start at Pisa Centrale train station. Take a train to 'Viareggio', which takes about 25 minutes. Upon arrival at Viareggio, exit the station and head to the bus stop located right outside the train station. Catch the bus that goes to 'Camaiore'. After about 15 minutes, get off at 'Camaiore'. From there, it’s a 20-minute walk to Via Candalla Alta. Walk north on Via Vittorio Emanuele II, take a left onto Via Roma, and continue until you reach Via Candalla Alta, where the hiking path begins.

If you prefer to walk, start from the Piazza dei Miracoli where the Leaning Tower is located. Walk south on Via Santa Maria for about 1 km until you reach the train station. From there, take the train to 'Viareggio' as explained above. Alternatively, you can enjoy a scenic walk to Camaiore, which is approximately 30 km from Pisa, but this will take several hours and is recommended only for experienced hikers.

Rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Pisa. From the city center, head towards Via Aurelia and follow the bike paths heading to Camaiore. The ride will take about an hour, depending on your pace. Once you reach Camaiore, navigate to Via Candalla Alta by following local signs or using a map application on your phone.
