Getting There

• Train

  To get to Mercato Centrale in Livorno from Pisa, start by heading to the Pisa Centrale train station. You can walk there from the city center; just go south towards the station, which is clearly marked. Once at the station, purchase a ticket to Livorno. Trains run regularly, approximately every 30 minutes. The journey takes around 20-30 minutes. Upon arrival at Livorno Station, exit the station and head to Via Buontalenti, which is about a 15-minute walk away. Turn right onto Via della Libertà, then continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via Buontalenti. Turn left and walk for about 5 minutes; you’ll see Mercato Centrale on your right.

  From the city center of Pisa, make your way to the bus station located at Piazza dei Martiri della Libertà. Look for the bus line that goes to Livorno, typically Line 1 or 2. The bus ride will take about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Livorno bus terminal, exit the bus and head towards the main street, Via Grande. Walk straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Via Buontalenti. Turn left onto Via Buontalenti, and Mercato Centrale will be a short walk down the street on your left.

  If you're feeling adventurous and want to bike to Livorno from Pisa, you can rent a bike in the city. Start from the historical center of Pisa and follow the bike path towards the west, leading you to the coastline. The ride to Livorno is approximately 25 km and will take about 1-2 hours depending on your pace. Once you arrive in Livorno, follow the signs to Via Buontalenti, where you will find Mercato Centrale. It's a popular spot, so it should be easy to navigate to once you're in the area.
