Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from the Pisa Centrale train station, exit the station and head southeast on Viale Gramsci. Continue straight for approximately 1 kilometer until you reach the Arno River. Turn right onto Lungarno Galilei, and follow the riverbank for about 600 meters. You will come to the Ponte di Mezzo bridge. Cross the bridge and continue straight onto Via XX Settembre. Follow this street until you reach Piazza della Repubblica. From there, take a left onto Via Garibaldi, and continue walking for about 300 meters. Finally, turn right onto Via P. D. P. and then left onto Piazza Grande, which will be on your left.

  • Bus

    From the Pisa Centrale train station, head to the bus stop located just outside the station. Look for a bus heading towards Livorno. Buses such as the LAM Rossa or LAM Verde will take you to Livorno in about 30 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Piazza Grande.' From there, it's just a short walk to the center of the square.

    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the many bike rental shops near the Pisa Centrale train station.
