Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa, head southwest on Piazza dei Miracoli towards Via Santa Maria. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via Roma. Turn left onto Via Roma and walk until you reach the end of the street. From there, turn right onto Via dei Mille. Continue straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the San Francesco area. You will see the church on your left side as you approach.

If you are near the Pisa Centrale train station, take bus number 3 or 4 from the bus stop located just outside the station. The journey takes about 15 minutes. Get off at the 'San Francesco' bus stop. From there, it’s a short 5-minute walk: head east on Via della Faggiola until you reach the intersection with Via dei Mille. Turn left and you will find San Francesco on your right.

If you decide to rent a bicycle, start from the area around the Leaning Tower. Head south on Via Santa Maria, then turn left onto Via Roma. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via dei Mille. Turn left onto Via dei Mille and cycle for about 10 minutes until you reach San Francesco. There are bike racks available near the church.
