Getting There

    From the Pompeii archaeological site, exit through the main entrance. Once outside, head towards the train station, which is about a 10-minute walk. As you walk, keep the ruins to your left. When you reach the train station, board a Circumvesuviana train towards Sorrento. The train ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the Ercolano Scavi station. From there, exit the station and turn right onto Via Pugliano. Follow this road until you reach the entrance to Vesuvius National Park, which will be marked. The total walking distance from the train station to the park entrance is about 1.5 kilometers and should take around 20 minutes.

  • Public Transport

    At the Pompeii archaeological site, head to the nearest bus stop located near the main entrance. Look for the EAV bus that goes to Ercolano. Once on the bus, you will need to pay the fare (approximately €2). The bus ride will take about 25 minutes. Get off at the stop nearest to Vesuvius National Park. From there, follow the signs to the park entrance, which is about a 10-minute walk uphill. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the path may be uneven.
