Santa Maria Incoronata: A Hidden Gem of Naples

Getting There

• Walking

  From the Pompeii archaeological site, head towards the main exit at Porta Marina. Once you exit, turn left onto Corso Vittorio Emanuele. Walk straight for about 700 meters until you reach the intersection with Via Roma. Turn right onto Via Roma and continue for another 300 meters. You will then reach Piazza Garibaldi. From there, take the Metro Line 2 towards Naples. Get off at the 'Napoli Centrale' station. After exiting the station, head towards the exit sign for Piazza Garibaldi. Once you are outside, turn right and walk for about 600 meters along Via Cesare Rosaroll until you reach Via Medina. Turn left onto Via Medina, and Santa Maria Incoronata will be on your left at number 53.

• Public Transport - Train

  From Pompeii Scavi - Villa dei Misteri train station, take the Circumvesuviana train towards Naples. The train ride takes about 30 minutes. Disembark at Napoli Centrale station. Once you arrive at Napoli Centrale, follow the signs to the exit. After exiting, turn right and walk along Corso Garibaldi until you reach the intersection with Via Medina. Turn left onto Via Medina, and you will find Santa Maria Incoronata at number 53.

• Public Transport - Bus

  From the archaeological site, walk to the nearest bus stop located at Via Roma. Take bus line R2 towards Naples. The bus ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. Get off at the stop 'Piazza Municipio'. From there, walk towards Via Medina, which is about a 10-minute walk. Turn left onto Via Medina, and Santa Maria Incoronata will be at number 53 on your left.
