Getting There
Walking
Start at the Pompeii Archaeological Park entrance. Head east on Via Villa dei Misteri towards the town center. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via Roma. Turn left onto Via Roma and walk until you reach the Circumvesuviana train station, which is about a 15-minute walk. Once at the station, buy a ticket to Ercolano. Board the train heading towards Naples and get off at the Ercolano Scavi station. Exit the station and turn right onto Via Mare. Continue straight, and after about a 10-minute walk, you will reach the entrance to Vesuvio.
Public Transport
From the Pompeii Archaeological Park entrance, walk to the Circumvesuviana train station, which is about a 15-minute walk. At the station, purchase a ticket to Ercolano. Board the train towards Naples (the trains run frequently). The journey will take approximately 20 minutes. Once you arrive at Ercolano Scavi station, exit and turn right onto Via Mare. Walk straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the entrance to Vesuvio.
