Getting There

Ferry
To reach Amalfi from Positano, make your way to the Positano harbor, which is located at the bottom of the main street, Via Pasitea. Follow the signs down the steep steps towards the beach. Once you reach the harbor, look for the ferry service, which is clearly marked. Purchase a ticket for the ferry to Amalfi. The ferry ride offers stunning views of the coastline and takes approximately 30 minutes. Upon arriving in Amalfi, you will disembark at the main dock, which is centrally located.

From Positano, head to the main bus stop located near the church, Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta. Look for the SITA bus service heading towards Amalfi. Buses run regularly, so check the schedule for the next departure time. Once aboard, enjoy the scenic ride along the coastal road, which takes about 40 minutes. The bus will drop you off at the Amalfi bus terminal, which is close to the town center.

For the adventurous, you can hike from Positano to Amalfi. Start your hike at the Path of the Gods trailhead, which is accessible via a short walk to the nearby town of Nocelle. From Nocelle, follow the signs for the Sentiero degli Dei (Path of the Gods) trail. The hike offers breathtaking views and takes about 2 hours. Eventually, you will descend into Amalfi, arriving at the town center. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
