Walking
From the center of Positano, make your way to the main road, Via Pasitea. Head west along Via Pasitea until you reach the bus stop at 'Positano - Chiesa Nuova'. At this stop, take the SITA bus towards Naples. After about 30 minutes of travel, you will reach the stop 'Pozzuoli'. From the bus stop, head northeast on Via Napoli toward Via Solfatara. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you arrive at Solfatara.
Boat and Walking
From Positano, walk down to the harbor where you can catch a ferry. Look for the ferry service to Naples. Once you arrive at the Naples harbor, exit the port and locate the Metro Line 2 at 'Stazione Marittima'. Take the metro towards 'Pozzuoli'. After arriving at Pozzuoli station, exit and walk northeast on Via Napoli toward Via Solfatara. Continue for about 1 kilometer to reach Solfatara.
Taxi/Private Transfer
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Positano. Inform the driver that you want to go to Solfatara in Pozzuoli. This may take approximately 1 hour depending on traffic. The driver will take you via the coastal road for a scenic route.
