Ferry
From Positano, head to the main port area where the ferries dock, which is located at the base of the town. Look for signs indicating the ferry to Pompei. Purchase a ticket for the ferry to Sorrento. The ferry ride offers beautiful views of the coastline and takes approximately 30 minutes.
Train
Upon arriving at the Sorrento port, follow the signs to the Sorrento train station, which is about a 10-minute walk from the ferry terminal. Once at the station, board the Circumvesuviana train towards Naples. Be sure to get off at the Pompei Scavi - Villa dei Misteri station, which is the closest stop to the Villa dei Misteri. The train ride takes about 30 minutes.
Walking
After disembarking at the Pompei Scavi - Villa dei Misteri train station, follow the signs towards the archaeological sites. The Villa dei Misteri is approximately a 10-minute walk from the train station. Head east on Via Villa dei Misteri until you reach the entrance, which will be on your left.
Bus
If you prefer to take a bus from Positano, walk to the main bus stop located near the church of Santa Maria Assunta. Board the SITA bus heading towards Sorrento. After arriving in Sorrento, transfer to the Circumvesuviana train towards Naples and follow the instructions for the train trip to Pompei as described above.
