If you are already in Vatican City, the St. Peter Square Obelisk is easily accessible on foot. Begin at the entrance to St. Peter's Basilica, which is located at Piazza San Pietro. As you step into the square, look directly ahead; the imposing obelisk stands in the center of the Piazza, surrounded by a beautiful colonnade of columns. It's a short walk from the Basilica entrance, taking approximately 2-3 minutes.

Public Transport (Bus)
While it's very close to most areas in Vatican City, if you happen to be further away, you can take a bus to get closer. Use the local bus service (Bus 40 or 64) which stops at Via della Conciliazione. From there, it’s a short 5-minute walk to St. Peter Square. Disembark at the stop, and walk towards the large open square in front of St. Peter's Basilica. The obelisk will be straight ahead. Note that the bus rides cost around €1.50.

Walking from the Vatican Museums
If you are visiting Vatican Museums, you can walk to St. Peter Square Obelisk. Exit the Museums and head towards Viale Vaticano. Continue down this avenue until you reach the large entrance of Piazza San Pietro. The walk will take approximately 15 minutes. As you approach the square, you will see the obelisk standing tall at the center.
