Getting There

• Walking

  From the historic center of San Gimignano, head towards Via San Giovanni and proceed straight until you reach the Piazza della Cisterna. Once there, continue walking towards the northern exit of the piazza onto Via Folgore da San Gimignano. Follow this road until you reach the bus station, where you can catch a bus to Florence. The bus ride will take approximately 1 hour. Upon arriving at the bus station in Florence, exit and walk towards the nearest tram stop or follow the signs to the main train station (Firenze Santa Maria Novella). From there, you can take a tram or walk to Piazza di Madonna degli Aldobrandini, which is a short distance away, where the Cappelle Medicee is located.

• Bus

  From San Gimignano, make your way to the bus station located near the central square, Piazza della Cisterna. Purchase a ticket for the bus to Florence. The bus service is frequent, so you should not have to wait long. The journey will take about an hour. When you arrive at the bus terminal in Florence, exit and head towards Via Nazionale. Walk straight along Via Nazionale until you reach Piazza di Madonna degli Aldobrandini. The Cappelle Medicee is located at number 6 in this piazza.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from San Gimignano to Florence. Taxis can be found near the central square or booked via phone. The drive will take approximately 45 minutes, depending on traffic. Ask the driver to take you to Piazza di Madonna degli Aldobrandini. The Cappelle Medicee will be at number 6 in the piazza.
