From the center of San Gimignano, head southwest on Via San Giovanni towards Piazza della Cisterna. Continue straight until you reach the Piazza della Cisterna, a prominent square. From there, take Via San Matteo, which will lead you out of the city walls. Follow this road for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass through scenic countryside views. Keep an eye out for signs pointing towards Vinci, as the direction will guide you. After about 20-25 minutes of walking, you will arrive at the town of Vinci. Once in Vinci, follow the signs to Piazza Leonardo da Vinci, and you will find the Museo Leonardiano di Vinci at Piazza Leonardo da Vinci, 26.

From San Gimignano, walk to the bus stop located at Piazza della Libertà. Look for the bus schedule and take the bus towards Empoli. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the Vinci stop. Once you arrive, it's a short 10-minute walk to Piazza Leonardo da Vinci. Head straight down Via Giuseppe Verdi, and then turn left onto Via Leonardo da Vinci, which leads directly to the museum located at Piazza Leonardo da Vinci, 26.
