Walking
From the center of San Gimignano, head towards the main street known as Via San Giovanni. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with Via delle Fonti. Turn left onto Via delle Fonti and continue walking until you reach the main square, Piazza della Cisterna. From there, proceed towards the northwest corner of the square, and you will find a path leading to the exit of the town. Follow the signs for 'Firenze' (Florence). After about 15-20 minutes of walking, you will reach the bus stop where you can take a bus to Florence.

Once you reach the bus stop from Piazza della Cisterna, look for the bus heading to Florence. Make sure to check the schedule at the bus stop for the next departure time. The journey to Florence will take approximately 1 hour. When you arrive in Florence, get off at the main bus terminal, which is close to the city center. From there, follow the signs or ask for directions to Piazza della Repubblica, which is about a 10-minute walk away.

If you prefer a more scenic route, after leaving San Gimignano, take the bus to Poggibonsi, which is about 15 minutes away. From Poggibonsi, transfer to another bus heading directly to Florence. This route may take a little longer but offers beautiful views of the Tuscan countryside. Once you arrive in Florence, you can easily walk to Piazza della Repubblica, which is centrally located.
