Car
If you're traveling by car, start by heading towards the city of Siracusa. From Siracusa, take the SS124 road towards Palazzolo Acreide. Follow the signs for Palazzolo Acreide, and as you approach the town, look for signs directing you to the Akrai Necropolis. The necropolis is located just outside the town center, approximately a 30-minute drive from Siracusa. Make sure to park in the designated parking area near the entrance of the necropolis.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a train from Catania to Siracusa. The train ride will take about 1 hour. Upon arriving in Siracusa, head to the bus station located near the train station. From there, you can catch a bus to Palazzolo Acreide. Buses run regularly, and you should check the local timetable for exact times. The bus journey will take around 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Palazzolo Acreide, you may need to walk or take a short taxi ride to reach the Akrai Necropolis, which is about 3 km from the town center.
