Bus
From the center of Siena, walk to the bus station located at Piazza Gramsci. Look for the bus line that goes to Montalcino. You will need to board a bus that goes to Castelnuovo dell'Abate. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Castelnuovo dell'Abate bus stop, walk southeast on Via della Libertà for about 500 meters until you reach the Abbazia di Sant'Antimo, located at Località San Antimo, 222.
Bicycle
If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bike in Siena. Start from the city center and head southwest on Via di Città, following signs towards Montalcino. Once you reach the SP14 road, continue cycling for approximately 10 kilometers. Look for signs directing you to Castelnuovo dell'Abate. Upon reaching the village, bike along the local roads until you arrive at the Abbazia di Sant'Antimo, which is located at Località San Antimo, 222.
Walking
For those who enjoy walking, you can take a scenic route from Siena to the Abbazia di Sant'Antimo. Start at the Piazza del Campo and head south, taking Via di Città. Follow the signs towards Montalcino, which will lead you through beautiful countryside. The walk is about 12 kilometers and will take around 2.5 to 3 hours. Once you reach Castelnuovo dell'Abate, continue to the abbey located at Località San Antimo, 222. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water for the journey.
