Getting There

Walking
Start at the central Taormina bus station (Stazione degli Autobus). From there, head east on Via Luigi Pirandello, which will lead you towards Corso Umberto. Once you reach Corso Umberto, turn left and continue walking until you reach the Piazza IX Aprile. This is a popular square with stunning views and a lovely atmosphere. From Piazza IX Aprile, continue along Corso Umberto, passing shops and cafes. After about 300 meters, you will reach the intersection with Via Duca degli Abruzzi. Turn right onto Via Duca degli Abruzzi and continue walking for about 15 minutes. Porta Aragonese will be on your left, a historic landmark you won't want to miss.

Walking
If you are near the Greek Theatre, exit the theatre and walk down the steps towards Via Teatro Greco. At the bottom of the steps, turn left and walk towards Corso Umberto. Once you reach Corso Umberto, turn right and continue straight until you arrive at Piazza IX Aprile. From there, follow the directions as outlined above, heading along Corso Umberto and turning right onto Via Duca degli Abruzzi. Continue for about 15 minutes to reach Porta Aragonese on your left.

Walking
If you are starting from the Taormina cable car station, exit the station and head downhill towards Via Roma. After reaching Via Roma, turn left and then take the first right onto Corso Umberto. Walk straight for about 600 meters until you get to Piazza IX Aprile. From there, follow the previous directions along Corso Umberto and turn right onto Via Duca degli Abruzzi, continuing until you reach Porta Aragonese on your left.
