Walking
Starting from the main square of Taormina, Piazza IX Aprile, head towards the Corso Umberto I, which is the main pedestrian street. Walk down Corso Umberto I for about 10 minutes, enjoying the shops and cafes along the way. Continue until you reach the intersection with Via Teatro Greco. Turn left onto Via Teatro Greco and follow it straight for about 5 minutes. You will eventually arrive at the beautiful Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta, which will be on your right.

If you're near the Greek Theatre, exit the theatre and head down Via Teatro Greco towards the main road. Once you reach the main road, turn right onto Corso Umberto I. Continue walking straight for about 10 minutes until you reach Piazza IX Aprile. From there, you can follow the same direction as above to reach the Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta.

If you are at the Taormina Cable Car station, take the stairs down from the station towards Corso Umberto I. Once you reach Corso Umberto I, turn left and walk straight for about 15 minutes until you reach Piazza IX Aprile. From there, follow the previous directions to Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta.
