To reach Kontovelska mlaka (Kontovel Pond) from the city center of Trieste, head to the nearest bus stop, which is located at Piazza Oberdan. Look for the bus line number 36, which travels towards Prosecco. Board the bus and enjoy the scenic ride. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at the 'Prosecco' stop. From there, walk along Via Contovello for about 20 minutes, following the signs towards Contovello. As you continue, you will eventually reach the pond area.

If you prefer to walk from the city center, start at Piazza Unità d'Italia and head north towards Via Guglielmo Marconi. Continue onto Via Roma, then turn left onto Via della Libertà. Follow this road until you reach the edge of the city, where it will turn into Strada del Friuli. Keep walking straight and follow the signs to Prosecco and Contovello. The walk will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, so wear comfortable shoes and enjoy the beautiful views along the way.
