If you're starting from the central train station (Stazione di Trieste Centrale), exit the station and head southeast on Via Carlo Alberto. Continue straight until you reach Piazza della Libertà, then turn left onto Via Roma. Walk along Via Roma, which will lead you to Piazza Unità d'Italia. As you approach the square, you will see the beautiful waterfront and the large buildings surrounding it.
