• Car

  If you are driving from Valdarno, take the SS69 road heading towards Reggello. Continue on SS69 for approximately 15 km until you reach the junction for the SP1. Take the exit towards SP1 to Vallombrosa. Follow the signs for Vallombrosa Abbey, which is about 8 km from the SP1 junction. You will arrive at Via S. Benedetto, where the abbey is located. There is limited parking available at the abbey, so plan to arrive early, especially during peak tourist seasons.

  To reach Vallombrosa Abbey using public transport, start by taking a train from the nearest train station in Valdarno (e.g., Montevarchi or Figline Valdarno) to the station at Florence Santa Maria Novella. Once in Florence, transfer to a bus heading to Vallombrosa - it typically departs from the bus terminal near the train station. The bus journey takes about 1 hour and will take you close to the abbey. Keep in mind to check the bus schedule in advance, as the frequency may vary, especially on weekends and holidays.
