Ferry
To reach Piazza San Marco from Venice Lido, start by heading to the nearest Vaporetto (water bus) stop. The main stop is 'Lido' located at the waterfront. Purchase a ticket for the Vaporetto to San Marco. The ticket costs approximately €7.50 for a single journey and is valid for 75 minutes. Board the Vaporetto heading towards 'San Marco'. Enjoy the scenic ride across the lagoon, which takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at 'San Marco' stop, follow the signs directing you to Piazza San Marco, just a short walk away.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can opt for a water taxi. Head to the nearest water taxi station on Lido. This option is more expensive, generally costing between €50-100 depending on the distance and time of day. Water taxis can accommodate multiple passengers and provide a direct ride to Piazza San Marco. Once you arrive, the taxi will drop you off at the docks near the square, and you can easily walk to the main area of Piazza San Marco.
Bus and Vaporetto Combination
If you’re traveling from a different area in Lido, you may take a bus to the Lido Vaporetto terminal. Look for the public bus service that connects various parts of Lido. After reaching the terminal, purchase a Vaporetto ticket (costing around €7.50) to San Marco. This journey will take approximately 30 minutes on the Vaporetto. Upon arrival, follow the signs to Piazza San Marco, which is a short walk from the Vaporetto stop.
