Nonsuch River: A Serene Escape in Jamaica

Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from the central area of Port Antonio, head east on Main Street toward Harbour Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Drapers Road. Turn left onto Drapers Road and follow it for about 4 kilometers. You will pass through the small village of Drapers. As you approach the coordinates 5H2M+HJQ, keep an eye out for signs pointing to Nonsuch River, which will be on your left. There is limited parking available near the river.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Nonsuch River using public transportation, start at the main bus terminal in Port Antonio. Look for a bus or a taxi that is heading towards Drapers. The fare should be around 200 Jamaican Dollars (JMD). Inform the driver that you want to go to Nonsuch River or get off at Drapers and ask locals for directions. Once you reach Drapers, you may need to walk about 1 kilometer towards the river. It’s a short walk, and locals are usually very friendly and can point you in the right direction.

• Taxi

  For a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from Port Antonio to Nonsuch River. You can hire a taxi from your hotel or a nearby taxi stand. The trip will take approximately 15-20 minutes and should cost around 800 to 1000 JMD depending on your negotiation skills and the time of day. Make sure to agree on a fare before starting your journey. The driver will know the way to Nonsuch River, so you can simply relax and enjoy the scenery.
