From Port Maria, taxis are readily available. Negotiate the fare before departing, with a typical cost ranging from JMD 2000-3000 for the 30-40 minute trip to Tacky Falls. Confirm the fare and that the driver knows the way to Tacky Falls near Islington.
Public Transport
From the Port Maria bus terminal, take a bus heading towards Kingston and ask to get off at Kellits. The bus ride takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. From Kellits, hire a taxi to Tacky Falls, which is about 5-10 minutes away, expect to pay around JMD 500-700. Negotiate the fare before starting the ride.
Car
From Port Maria, drive east on the A3 highway towards Oracabessa. After approximately 5 miles, turn left onto the B3 highway towards Tacky Falls. Follow the signs and continue on the B3 for another 3 miles until you reach the parking area for Tacky Falls. From there, it is a short hike to the waterfall. Note there may be a small parking fee upon arrival.
