Pagee Beach, also called Frontier, is located in Port Maria, St. Mary. It is known for its natural beauty and authentic island vibe. The beach features a long stretch of soft, golden sand and clear turquoise waters. Unlike many commercialized beaches, Pagee Beach offers a genuine Jamaican experience where the rhythms of local life blend seamlessly with the tranquil ocean backdrop. The beach is approximately 1,000 meters long and is easily accessible from the main road. The backshore vegetation includes West Indian almond, coconut, beach spider lily, and coastal grasses. Sections of the beach are separated from the main road by a cut stone seawall. The recreational area is to the west, while the fishing beach is to the east. Pagee Beach is a favorite spot for locals and hosts lively annual events in August, including regattas and local music gatherings. Visitors can often see fishermen hauling in their daily catches, a practice that has connected the community to the sea for generations. The surrounding gentle hills and lush greenery create a natural frame for relaxation and quiet reflection. While swimming is a popular activity, caution is advised due to strong currents.
