Black River Safari and YS Falls

So worth the trip!

The YS falls were the highlight of our trip. We chose this fall’s vs Dunns river because it was a bit closer and we hoped less crowded. It did not disappoint. Our driver Demar was absolutely the best. It was a rough ride up the mountain and my son was very car sick. Demar stopped numerous times and remained so calm and patient. He even ran into a store to grab him a drink and mints to help him feel better. We were not rushed at the falls and on our own timeline. At the falls, our guide Brenden was also fantastic! My boys loved the rope swing and did it on repeat. Brenden even had to jump in twice to help other struggling swimmers from another group- and came right back to my boys to keep their fun going. He made us feel safe, allowed us to take our time, and took great pics for us the whole time. While the ride there is tough, it’s 100% worth it. Demar and Brenden both enhanced this awesome experience for our family.

Our driver mark arrived on time very welcoming and knowledgeable on our drive showing us some beautiful places and some of the amazing work of people rebuilding after Melissa was a wonderful driver he stayed with us the whole time except when he passed us over to Barry our tour guide at YS falls we had another lady join us with our tour of YS which was ok but not what I was expecting especially going as a couple to enjoy the beautiful falls together it felt a little rushed but we do have some amazing photos then as we headed back down Barry took on another guided tour and we were left to walk the last bit down to the main area it wasn’t explained what we could do after that until we meet up with mark and he explained we could walk around go into the pools and showed us around we enjoyed a little more time then headed to an authentic little restaurant and the food was amazing great choice mark on the drive back to our hotel mark showed us more beautiful areas also some of the devastation that families are still building from the amazing people of Jamaica has not let it hold them down still living smiling this country truly has a vibe no problem Overall a great day out

Outstanding-- can't miss!

This is a special shoutout to my ladies-- if you're tired of the verbal aggression that is common in the tourism space, this tour is a safe haven. Vassiana Tours and particularly our guide, Calvin, was safe, incredibly respectful, punctual, and made me and my girlfriend feel at ease immediately. He was exceptional in navigating the winding roads of Jamaica and also gave us fun facts about the different places we were driving through. Our visit to YS falls ($25 / ticket) and the Black River Safari ($30 / ticket) were an exhilarating change from the relaxing beaches of Negril and certainly worth the trip. We went after a rainy day so the falls were brown but still a sight to behold, and we got to see our tour guide at the Safari feed 2 crocodiles. If you like to explore while staying safe, this is definitely something to consider booking!! If I were to come to Jamaica would definitely book and recommend to a friend.
