Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards Nagano city center. From there, take Route 19 heading east. After approximately 5 kilometers, turn left onto Route 403. Continue on this road for about 2 kilometers until you reach Motoyoshicho. Yakuōin will be on your right at Motoyoshicho-657, and you can park in the designated area nearby.

Public Transportation
To reach Yakuōin using public transportation, start by taking a train to Nagano Station. From Nagano Station, take the Nagano Electric Railway to Yudanaka Station. The journey takes around 45 minutes. Once at Yudanaka Station, transfer to a local bus heading towards Motoyoshicho. The bus will drop you off near Yakuōin at Motoyoshicho-657. Make sure to check the bus schedule as they may not run frequently.

If you are already in the vicinity of Yakuōin, you can walk from nearby attractions or accommodations. For example, if you are near Nagano Station, it is a 30-minute walk to Yakuōin. Head east on Chuo-dori, then follow the signs towards Motoyoshicho. The temple will be visible as you approach its location at Motoyoshicho-657.
