Walking
Hida Kokubunji Temple is conveniently located a short walk from JR Takayama Station. From the station's main exit, walk southeast for about 5 minutes. The temple is easily visible, with its distinctive three-story pagoda and large ginkgo tree. No costs are involved for this final approach.
Public Transport
If arriving by bus at Takayama Nohi Bus Center, exit the terminal and walk southeast towards the city center. Hida Kokubunji is approximately a 15-minute walk from the bus center. Alternatively, take a local bus (Furukawa Kamioka Line F07, F00, F05 or Shokawa Line K1k) and get off at Kokubunji Bus Stop, which is a 1-minute walk to the temple. A single bus fare within Takayama city costs around ¥210.
